Is fine for what it is designed for, but is NOT an AMS

to collet data and keep it in one place is fine - and the add on tools for fundreaisng are good too, but as an AMS trying to keep all the data needed to maintain a 20,000 strong membership base - the system falls over.  RE is clunky at best and downright unfriendly at best. I would think it would be a good add on to an existing AMS - or as a straight fundraising tool, but on its w=own it fails to deliver - and as a previous reviewer said - you takes a lot of training to understand where this program is coming from.

Raiser's Edge can do a lot...if you have the time to learn how to do it.

Raiser's Edge is a robust AMS with a lot of capabilities, but not very intuitive. In order to fully take advantage of all it can offer, you need a lot of training.

Raisers Edge is user friendly when seraching for members, updating member information and adding memberships. This system is not so friendly with pulling list for membership, certain districts or regions, dropped, lapsed or new members, etc. The process was very confusing and hard to minipulate.

I used Raiser's Edge at my old organization for nearly eight years. The system was implemented without a consultant guiding our staff so we basically just asked for whatever we thought was best. I loved the automation and batch entry for payments, but the best part of the system was no doubt the query and export features. We could query from the broadest fields down to the most granular detail, allowing me to find any entry, person, or payment I needed. I miss the days of having this system.

We have been using Raisers Edge (Blackbaud) for about 10 years. When we first implemented the database, we needed to customize its features to accommodate our organization - a membership organization. It has not grown in function and accessibility and does not easily integrate with web-based platforms. Instead, customization is needed via Blackbaud to develop web solutions that integrate. When we have had customization items completed, they 'go down' frequently when updates are made to the d/b by Blackbaud. We are going to transition to a different membership d/b this year.

It is a complex system that is not the easiest to master. But the functionality and comprehensive nature of the system, once learned, exceeded our expectations and was a great system to build our platforms around.

While Raisers Edge may be an excellent donor management tool, it STINKS for association management purposes. What's worse is that the system has more capabilities than we have been offered, and getting their staff to communicate about this has been impossible. We're saying bye-bye to Raisers Edge!

We have been using RE for more than a year. The platform itself is very customizable. The biggest issue with RE is the setup/implementation. Our setup/implementation was horrible. The Blackbaud employee who ran our implementation gave us plenty of bad guidance and we spent nearly a year fixing the problems they created. The Blackbaud NetCommunity (BBNC) module is good and bad. It is easy to use but lacks some basic functions. Be sure to ask a lot of questions before you buy it! There are some quirks to the system but overall it is ok.
