For an all volunteer chapter in which I am a leader we had to get up and running quickly and be able to maintain the site easily. It is a hosted site and charges based on number of records stored. Has all the functionalty a small association would need: website, member directory, forums, social media streaming, interface with accounting packages, event registration, etc. Wild Apricot is great at adding features and they have good technical support.

Wild Apricot is a solution that works for any size organization. Everything you need to operate successfully comes out of the box. Affordable system, great training programs, and access to help when needed. They have customizable templates for communications (I would like to see more variety, but it is enOugh to meet your basic needs). Website design/updates are simple. Currently lacking a 'print badges' option in the event module (you have to export and merge into template). We have several clients using this AMS. Great system for the cost.

I find it is a basic AMS system for a start up association. We are a growing association and we find we are limited in what we can do in regards to add ons.

We have had the ability to work with Wild Apricot with several small member-based associations and believe that it is great platform for community groups and small associations.

One of our AMS clients switched from Affiniscape in June 2013 to WildApricot. Affiniscape became less and less reliable, the reason for the change. The problem with Affiniscape is that is was selected some years prior as a "chapter solution", when it really wasn't. We were responsible for one of about 9 chapters, so we can't comment on how WildApricot served the aggregate needs of the chapters as a collective, but it was serviceable for one chapter. It meet the basic needs fine for membership records, event registration, website content posting. It also provided a decent "export" function, which we rely on for custom uses. I could not imagine using it for a large or complex association and not sure how well it would work for a trade association. In fact, we had to "trick it" with a bogus member registration to allow an administrator at a sponsor member (w/multiple individual memberships) to manage the member information. That was probably the one weakness we experienced.

Wild Apricot is very very simple, inexpensive, and works well for the small organization which does not need much online engagement from members. I have to upload database changes to the site monthly - I simplified this process so it takes very little time. We use it for static pages, members only pages, posts to news by volunteers, and CE registration which is simple, and I can glance at numbers very quickly - no pulling reports. Financial reports are also simplified, so additional details would be from books, not the site. If you need customization or have complicated sessions at conferences, this may not be for you.
