MemberClicks

We switched over to trade from pro and it was the worst decision made. We were told many things that turned out not to be the case and it was such a downgrade. Reports are not accurate. Memberships just don't make sense and if you're lucky enough to get a response from customer service, everyone will give you a different answer... Somehow no one knows anything and nothing can ever be fixed. Prepare for lots of manual work and a life of work arounds. 

When we first implemented MemberClicks in 2018 it for us like a glove for our needs. Their technical support was second to none and their functionality was flawless. If there were any issues, they were quick to get them resolved. Fast-forward to 2021 when we are acquired by personify. Their service went down the drain, they had a 100% staff turnover for support, and now it takes days to get a response, if you get a response. as a result, we are now looking for another AMS to replace them. 

Over three years ago, helped our small organization move away from a paper/mail/fax approach to membership and event management. Customer service is extremely poor - talking DAYS to respond to email/chatbot inquiries. Product lacks intuition, work-flow, user experience (from our Association members) is challenging and difficult. Creation of new events and communications is challenging - event registration and public facing content must be re-created, management of member and non-member profile is time consuming and the system doesnt recognize duplications easily. MC Professional may help your organized with basic functionality to launch, it has not stayed on par with a growing association (less than 10 staff, less than $1m budget). 

When I began with memberclicks, I had only myself. I was able to manage membership logistics, billing, newsletters AND have a website with a portal. We looked like we had at least 3 or 4 people working at our org. Eventually, I wanted to do more in terms of learning platforms, conference registration, volunteer management. Technically, these things were all possible, but they couldn't be customized to our case use. Instead, I felt like I had to rig the system to get what I wanted. We ended up getting add-ons and other systems to use with Memberclicks. 

We are currently using Memberclick AMS (Oasis) and LMS. This is our first AMS that we have ever used, so I don't have anything to compare it to. The customer service is great at Memberclicks. Our concerns are addressed, fixed, in a quick and professional manner. Having said that, the Memberclick team knows my employee by first name. We have had a lot of issues reguarding integrating the AMS with the LMS. 

Both the AMS and LMS (and their integration) is clunky. It seems that one has to check three boxes on the AMS and one box on the LMS for the system to run smoothly (all in different locations in the software). If one forgets to check one of the "boxes" then the integration will not work correctly. 

Now, we are back to the drawing board to see if we can find a better running AMS/LMS. 

If you are looking for a reasonably priced AMS, want to set it up, and leave it alone- this may work for you. But, we have a lot of in-person, online, and hybrid events with the need to track training credits for our members. The Memberclick staff are great, but their platform needs updating. 

While MemberClicks has fantastic customer service, the major issue with the software is that it just doesn't work. It is clunky, things are labeled with weird names that don't make sense (for example if you are creating a website page it's called an "article") which makes it difficult to operate. The email communication tool is glitchy and sometimes will send out emails that look messed up for no apparent reason. And sometimes the entire platform freezes and becomes unusable for a whole day, hindering your ability to do your work. 

If you are considering MemberClicks because of it's low price point or repuatation for service - save yourself the heartache and stay away! The staff at MC are great and the help team do their best, but at a basic level the software does not work well, is not intuitive, and does not perform super basic functions that your and your staff will need to accomplish. This product is extremely time consuming for staff and very difficult for members to use as well. The best service in the world cannot make up for the total lack of functionality. 

The system is not very robust and is not very intuitive.  The onboarding process was cumbersome and the membership reporting is lacking.

I've used a number of AMS platforms and I will say that out of everyone, MemberClicks probably has the most functionality that suits our needs. If you have a Wordpress website and are looking to continue using your Wordpress site, it's not the 100% best solution. Their onboarding process could really use some improvements. I've worked with them at two different associations and the onboarding has been the same each time. 

We've used MemberClicks for a few years and have learned all of the in's and out's of the software. More often than not, there are issues, limitations, and just plain old bugs that cause problems, even some resulting in a loss of revenue. Start in the beginning with just wanting a website to handle membership is where you first start to notice the issues.

Website Templates are NOT responsive! I quote again NOT responsive. They advertise them as 'responsive websites' which you would believe would adapt to the different users viewing them, but in fact, nearly all of the elements are static (such as the navigation bar). The simple solution would be to have the navigation menu based on percentages being 'responsive' and dynamic to the user's device and field of view. This sounds like a bit of complaining but you have expectations with the cost associated with the software.

The template choices are out-dated, not interactive, plain designs. MemberClicks limits what you can change. Additional changes outside of the basics will occur an additional fee. If you don't like the color in a few months, there will be a fee to change it. Want to have a button in a certain spot, there is either a fee or they are unable to change it. Their policy is to follow template designs so no customer goes outside of those designs.

Their features such as Forms are not intuitive (no complex logic built in). Any type of speaker portal or LMS system is additional to their base costs.

The only thing they do well is the back-end automated billing. Most software solutions can do that at a minimum. Their costs don't justify the platform. There are other solutions that are more geared towards associations, for less cost and we more features.

I inherited this platform when I took over as ED. The staff is adept at jumping through hoops to get it working ok-ish, but there are severe limitations to this platform. Something as simple as setting up a "product" to see requires awkward use of forms. Many work-arounds to create bundles of products. I have asked the company to convince me, as the new leader, to stay on the platform, but they handed me to a customer support person who struggled to answer simple questions. I wish I could give a more detailed review of how the platform is falling short of my expectations, but I don't even know what my expectations should be for it. 

My team is constantly putting in requests for support. There are times when my staff is on the phone multiple times per day. This seems excessive. 

In a nutshell, I don't understand how this platform serves associations but can't do simple tasks or reporting. We need data to make decisions. 

While the setup and implementation process went fairly well, it quickly became apparent that this product is better suited for individual membership organizations, and they have band-aid fixes to make it work for corporate memberships. Our members are very frustrated with our inability to designate AP contacts. As time goes on (we launched Nov 2018) we get more and more individual contacts being imported into our Quickbooks software,  and it is messy having invoices spread over organizations and individuals in both MemberClicks and accounting. We have a $350K operating budget with 2.5 FTE staff, so our options were limited during the RFP process. Be sure to budget for 5% annual increases if you go with this company. How I wish we could increase our dues by that amount every year! Lucky to get that every two.

We have been using MC since April of 2019 and have been pleased with the functionality, ease of use and the learning curve. Customer service has been outstanding and all of our questions/concerns have been handled expeditiously. Moreover, the onboarding process went very smooth and we receive excellent support throughout. That being said, it is incumbent on the organization using the software to invest time in learning for themselves as well. The videos and tutorials provided by MC were an immense help. Had we not had those the onboarding process, as well as post onboarding questions, would have been much more difficult. We wish there were more customization capabilities and would like to see some SEO and URL improvements but overall we are pleased with the system for what it is. 

We switched to MemberClicks from an older AMS for better technology and greater functionality to serve our members on one platform.  The customer service is excellent.  The help desk service is professional and prompt.  Unfortunately, the membership reporting functinality is limited and the user interface for our members has been less than productive.  We have experienced multiple setbacks due to upgrades to the system and the online community platform has been user-friendly or "easy" for our members.  No AMS platform is fail proof but I was expecting a more intuitive system and better functionality for our members. 

Worked well. Just needed more customization for our org.

Memberclicks customer service is great, I've never had issues with any of their reps when I've called or emailed.  They are very knowledgeable. I really wish that Memberclicks would offer more customization and more streamlining within their database.  It's a bit fumbly with functionality and what our Membership Manager needs to manipulate in the system manually seems to be something that can be streamlined rather easily.

Our non-profit organization has used Memberclicks for several years. While the customer service is great (meaning, you can call up at any time and get an answer to your question or assistance with your problem) it's not a very user-friendly AMS system. For example, if you send out newsletters, we have to export the newsletter to constant contact and then email out to our members. It would be nice to do all in one system. And while they have updated their program since the outdated one we still use to have better capabilities, when we reached out for a demo of the new things the system could do we were told they no longer do demos. While memberclicks may work for some...we are in the process of finding a new one. 

We have an organization of about 800 members. We offer a few conferences and events throughout the year in addition to a website. MemberClicks has been great at supporting all our needs. They have excellent customer service and are always able to answer my questions. I have no background on website or membership management, but I was able to pick up the system easily. 

We have been using memberclicks for two associations for a few years now....it has its drawbacks but for the most part we’ve made it worm for us. They have recently upgraded their entire platform. During the upgrade for one assiciIton we discovered many drawbacks that are forcing us to look for a new AMS.

Memberclicks is a good one-shop provider. I can do event registration, host our website, send email, etc. I put "easy to use" because I have strong database management skills, am comfortable editing html code, and can export/import csv sheets to get to the data I want. If I couldn't do those things, I'm not sure I'd like Memberclicks as much as I do. I also want to give kudos to their call-in support. Very helpful, nice folks who know their product well. I am not as fond of their support website organization. I usually look for less than a minute and then call.
