While the version of iMIS that we're using (15.1) is not the most modern AMS out there, it gets the job done for us. We've been using it for many years and have been able to pull data any which way. We've created numerous reports and procedures where the system didn't already have those features built-in. We did have to build our own online registration system in order to get all the functionality we really needed.

We are one of ASI's largest clients, we pay a significant sum of money annually to ASI. In return for this we are consistently given worthless technical support and false information on which we base planning and ending up paying double. We have had to hire consultants to do their job and we are looking for any opportunity to change to a better alternative. If we cannot find one we will write our own, after all our annually price for "support" will pay for an additional full time developer with ease.

The vendor seems disinterested in keeping us as a customer. We're supposed to be a "lifetime user" of the system, but get little in return for the 75+K we spend per year. The system fails terribly in generating reliable accounting transactions, and has "chimp-level" documentation. We don't need "press this key"-level help: we need to know WHY the system works as it does, and WHAT it does behind-the-scenes. This is my first exposure to AMS systems, and with a 40+year experience in designing and implementing technically proficient systems, this one is the pits!

We are satisfied with our current AMS as far as the stability it provides to us, however, we wish that they would provide more functionality - they are too worried about leaving slower associations behind so the associations that are more aggressive suffer from a functionality standpoint.

I would not recommend imis at all...their support is poor and the software is clunky. My organization is actually currently searching for another AMS provider and is one of the main reasons I am attending ASAE's Tech Comm
